ごく一部の食品添加物に弱い発がん性が認められたりすると、マスメディアはそれを大々的に取り上げて報道してきました。そうした報道から、消費者の多くは「食品添加物はすべて害がある」と思ってしまっているのではないでしょうか。
マスメディアは「安全である」ということをほとんど取り上げません。安全なことが普通だからです。問題になったものだけを、新奇性があるので取り上げます。食品添加物への報道に対してはそういう面があるということが、消費者のみなさんに伝わればと思っています。
